Pic-Fun in the Sun

Welcome to the wonderful world of Santana Sailing!

The W.D. Schock Santana 2023 is just plain fun to sail! Basically in production from 1992 to 1998, they borrow many modified parts from the great Santana 23 and one obvious difference, the addition of a water ballast tank. This design turns out to make it one of the best trailerable 23 foot boats around and it is found in three different models; the "A", "C", and "R".

The factory has since put the molds aside but will still produce the popular C model if four or more are ordered at one time.

Many modifications are listed below. Some were made by the owners, some with the factory's assistance, some from borrowed ideas, a few from necessity, and lot's from just plain personal preferences!

*Note: A great forum to read up-on and talk to other Santana / Schock owners, is located on part of the Trailer Sailor web site. It includes people's questions, answers, comments, and general talk. You'll find that I've collected just about every boat WD Schock made and put them within the "Factory Information" locker.

Contained within these "hulls" are many projects and thoughts that you might use on your boat. If you do, great! If you have a better or new idea for something, (whatever make or model boat you have), pass the word to "webcaptain1@yahoo.com".

Look through all the "lockers" below. If you wish I've put a free search engine below to help you find things.

For those with different WD Schock made models, I've listed just about every model sailboat that W.D. Schock ever made! Should you have more information I could include, send it to me!

Accessories

For that real nautical sound, download and place Ship's Bell on your Mickeysoft computer! It's a tiny program and really a great thing to have!
How it works: After loading it, you can set it up to chime out every half hour on the 29th and 59th minute of each hour. For those who leave their computer on all night, you can silence the night time bells. I'm not a computer puke so I really don't know but I'd guess the small program runs way down in the registry because it runs even after shutting the lid on my laptop, as long as you don't shut everything down.

Should you have any trouble downloading it, contact me directly.
It was a free down load several years back, since then I can't find it anywhere on the Internet.
It really should be something built in all computers just because it's so neat!

3) Santana 2023 Owner's Manual
NOTE: This was origionally written back in 1992 using the stock data. For example using a standard 27' mast and a rudder-hung mast crutch.. Appearently no attempts were made by the factory to update the data for any later modifications. Some corrections were made but generally what you read is what was printed in the manual.
4) The makings of a 2023!
