Santana 2023C

HULL (Also see Hull/Deck page)

The hull is one piece and is made of 100% hand laid-up fiberglass. It is engineered and built to yield maximum strength and rigidity and has reinforcement in areas where large loads may be exerted.

CENTERBOARD

The swing keel centerboard is fiberglass and weighs approximately 45 lbs. For convenience, it can be raised and lowered from the cockpit. For ease of inspection, it can be removed while the bioat is still on the trailer.

RUDDER

(Also goto Rudder / Tiller page. Use "Back" to return here.)

The rudder is fiberglass. It is a performance shaped, high aspect ratio design for better control in all conditions. The rudder floats to assist in retraction and is easily controllable from the cockpit for beaching and trailer recovery.

TRANSOM

The transom is specially designed to receive an outboard engine. Therefore this boat does not require the normal outboard motor bracket. The transom is designed so that it is lower to the water and makes it very easy to board the boat via the standard boarding ladder.

DECK

(Also see Hull/Deck page. Use "Back" to return here.)

The deck of the Santana 2023C is a harmonious blend of many W.D. Schock innovations. The forward hatch is large and is made of molded fiberglass. Eight ports allow for plenty of light. Two ports are located in the forward cabin, one is in the head and five are in the main cabin.

The side decks are wide and incorporate the raised hiking ramps found on other W.D. Schock boats. The forward end of the trunk cabin slopes down to the foredeck, making it very comfortable for sail handling and sun bathing.

The cockpit is spacious and features a T-shape cockpit sole which allows freedom to move about and access to the outboard engine. Lengthy bench seats, port and starboard, were designed each with a hatch, to provide lots of storage. The hatch to starboard can hold a 3.5 gallon fuel tank. Cockpit coaming meet the test of supporting your back and keeping the cockpit area dry.

The deck incorporates a uniquely designed pop top which allows the main hatch to be lifted with it. When the pop top is in the upright position, it enlarges the interior accommodations to provide the user a full six foot head room. An optional curtian may be installed around the pop top for privacy.

DECK HARDWARE

The Santana 2023C deck design is a blend of efficiency and simplicity, from the specially designed mast hinge, that needs no tools, to the Harken roller furler for the jib. There is a flush anchgor well hatch and wide side decks for safety. The genoa equipment includes 2 Harken winches, tracks, cars, and cam cleats. The centerboard is raised and lowered from the cockpit.

A Harken main sheet cam cleat is mounted on a pennant so it does not encroach on the cockpit space.

SPARS AND RIGGING

(Also see Rig/Mast page. Use "Back" to return here.)

The lofty rig is held in place by 1 x 19 stainless steel rigging and large turnbuckles. The main halyard is internal. The mast and boom extrusions are anodized aluminum. The three-part main sheet system is placed at the end of the boom for better control and reefing.

INTERIOR

(Also see Cabin page. Use "Back" to return here.)

Below deck, the Santana 2023A is spacious and tidy and extremely well equipped for family, racing, cruising and trailer camping. A V-berth forward and a large berth under the cockpit provide comfortable sleeping accommodations for four. The head compartment is enclosed for privacy. The galley is equipped with a well insulated built-in ice box. Teak trim provides a traditional nautical decor consistent with the 2023A high standard of quality.

The Santana 2023A is spacious, comfortable and efficient. You will enjoy every minute.
